Is 25% the same as 25% free amino acids?
No. Free amino acids are separately specified at minimum 8.5%.
Protein Hydrolysate 16.9% and Protein Hydrolysates 25% are separate FCO-notified plant-source liquid technicals. Both use soybean + maize in a 5.5:4.5 ratio through enzymatic hydrolysis, but their formulation composition and finished-product specifications are different. The 25% technical should not be described as automatically superior simply because its headline percentage is higher.
| Point | Protein Hydrolysate 16.9% | Protein Hydrolysates 25% |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Liquid | Liquid |
| Plant source | Soybean + Maize, 5.5:4.5 | Soybean + Maize, 5.5:4.5 |
| Hydrolysis | Food-grade Alcalase | Food-grade Alcalase |
| Protein Hydrolysate(s) in composition | Minimum 16.90% | Minimum 25% |
| Free Amino Acids | Minimum 6.3% | Minimum 8.5% |
| TOC | Not listed as a finished parameter in this technical | Minimum 11% |
| Specific Gravity | 1.1–1.3 | 1.1–1.2 |
| pH | 4–6 | 4.3 ± 1 |
| Solubility | Minimum 98.58% | Minimum 99.57% |
Neither 16.9% nor 25% should be read as the free-amino-acid percentage. Free amino acids are separate finished-product parameters: minimum 6.3% for the 16.9% technical and minimum 8.5% for the 25% technical.
Use the exact technical required for the product programme and follow the current product label / technical guidance. Selection should be based on formulation, specification, batch transparency and business/support factors, not only on the larger front percentage.
